Minimum Age
Atlas Fitness is intended for users aged 16 and over. Because the app includes AI coaching and social features (such as friends, leaderboards, messaging, and shared content), we require all users to be at least 16 years old. We collect your date of birth at sign-up to confirm you meet this requirement.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a person under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Atlas Fitness ("Atlas", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information about you when you use the Atlas Fitness mobile application and related services.
By using Atlas Fitness, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
This policy is written in plain language. If you have any questions, please contact us at the address below.

Technical Information
• Device type and operating system (for app compatibility)
• App version
• Basic usage analytics — for example, which features you open (used only to improve the app)
Atlas collects basic, event-based usage analytics through our backend platform to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This is first-party analytics — we do not embed third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
We do not collect payment information (no in-app purchases at this time), biometric data (fingerprints, face scans), or location data. Health and fitness data from Google Health Connect (and Apple Health on iOS) is collected only with your explicit permission — see the Health & Fitness Platform Data section below.
Health & Fitness Platform Data
With your explicit permission, Atlas can read selected health and fitness data from Google Health Connect on Android (and Apple Health on iOS in a future release) to reduce manual entry and give you a fuller picture of your training.
What We Read (only the types you approve)
- Steps and activity
- Body weight
- Heart rate
- Sleep
How We Use It
- Body weight is added to your Atlas body-measurement history so you don't have to enter it manually
- Steps, heart rate, and sleep are shown alongside your training to provide context and readiness insight
- This data is stored in your Atlas account, in the same way as data you enter yourself
Your Control
- Connecting is entirely optional — Atlas works fully without it
- You choose which data types to share, and you can change or revoke access at any time in Google Health Connect (or Apple Health) settings, or by disconnecting in the app
- We never sell this data, never share it with advertising networks, and never make it visible to other users unless you explicitly choose to
A future update may also let you write your completed Atlas workouts back to your health platform, again only with your permission. We access this data through the platforms' official APIs (Google Health Connect and Apple HealthKit) and handle it in line with their health-data policies.

We do not sell your personal information, and we never share your fitness or health data with advertisers. We do not use your fitness or health data to target advertising. When advertising is enabled in the free version, ad providers such as Google AdMob may collect device advertising identifiers — see the Advertising section below.
AI Coach & Data Processing
Atlas uses AI to provide coaching recommendations, insights, and suggestions. Here is how that works:
How AI Uses Your Data
Your workout history, profile, goals, and preferences are used as context for AI-generated recommendations. This helps the coach provide relevant, personalised guidance rather than generic advice.
Important Limitations
• AI recommendations are for informational purposes only and are not medical advice
• The AI may make mistakes or provide inaccurate suggestions
• No AI recommendation is applied to your plan without your explicit approval
• You can dismiss any suggestion without consequence
• The AI does not have access to real-time medical databases or your actual health records
Third-Party AI Processing
Atlas uses third-party AI services to generate coaching responses. When you use the Ask Atlas feature, relevant context (your recent workout data, profile, and your question) is sent to the AI service to generate a response. This data is processed transiently and is not stored by the AI provider for training purposes beyond what their standard privacy policies describe.
Transparency
Every AI recommendation includes an explanation of what the AI noticed, what is being suggested, and why. You are always in control.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services to operate Atlas Fitness, including:
• Hosting and database infrastructure (Base44 platform)
• AI processing services for coaching features
• Email delivery for account management
These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.
Google Calendar (optional): if you connect Google Calendar, Atlas creates and updates your scheduled training events in your calendar using Google's Calendar API. This is one-way — Atlas writes your training sessions and does not read or collect your existing calendar data. You can disconnect at any time in Profile → Calendar Sync, and events already added remain in your calendar.
Social Features
If you use friend features, your display name, profile photo, and the data you choose to share (per your privacy settings) will be visible to accepted friends. You control these settings at all times in Profile > Privacy.
Custom Exercises
If you create your own exercise and choose to share it with a specific friend, that exercise (its name and details) becomes visible to that friend so they can use it in their own routines. It is only shared with the friends you explicitly select, and you can stop sharing at any time from the My Exercises screen. Separately, you may choose to submit a custom exercise to the shared Atlas library; if our team approves it, its name and details are added to the public exercise catalogue available to all users.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
Business Transfers
If Atlas Fitness is acquired or merged, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users before data is transferred and subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any parties for their own marketing.
Advertising
Atlas Fitness may display advertisements from Google AdMob and other advertising networks to support the free version of the app.
What This Means for Your Data
Advertising networks may collect:
• Device advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID)
• General device and network information
• Aggregated usage signals for ad relevance
Atlas does not pass your personal fitness data, name, email, or health information to advertising networks. Ads are served based on general contextual signals, not your fitness data.
Ad-Free Zones
No advertisements are shown during:
• Active workout sessions
• Rest timer countdowns
• Post-workout review screens
• Safety and disclaimer content
Your Choices
You can opt out of personalised advertising by resetting your device advertising ID in your phone's system settings. This will not affect your use of Atlas Fitness.
For more information about Google AdMob data practices, see: policies.google.com/privacy
Progress Photos
Progress photos are personal and sensitive. Here is how we protect them:
Storage
Photos you upload are stored securely and are only accessible to you. They are not publicly visible and are not shared with other users by default.
Shared Photos
If you choose to share a progress photo through the social features, you control exactly what is shared and with whom. You can delete shared photos at any time.
Exercise Photos
If you submit a photo of an exercise to improve the exercise library, that photo may be reviewed by our team and — if approved — used in the app library. You will be credited. You can withdraw a submitted photo before it is approved by contacting support.
Deletion
Deleting your account removes all progress photos from our servers within 30 days.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
Account Deletion
When you delete your account through the app, all personal data is scheduled for permanent deletion within 30 days. During this period the account is deactivated and inaccessible.
Specific Retention
• Active account data: retained until you delete your account
• Workout logs and progress data: retained until account deletion
• Support correspondence: may be retained for up to 2 years
• Anonymised analytics: may be retained indefinitely (cannot be linked to you)
You may request deletion of specific data without deleting your entire account by contacting us at the address below.
Security
We take data security seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit)
- Secure authentication managed by our platform provider
- Access controls limiting who within our team can access user data
- Regular security reviews
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
